Barnes Home

comfortable and charismatic

Date 2017
Role Project Manager and Designer
Location Barnes, Roehampton

A complete renovation and reconfiguration of this Victorian house to create a stylish yet practical design for this six children family. The redesign entailed maximising bedrooms, storage space and creating numerous separate yet connected living spaces. The design was consistent throughout the space with a clean, fresh Scandinavian feel.

The Project

Project managing and designing this complete remodel consisted of four small rooms on the ground floor being combined into one large kitchen and living space; a large cloakroom added; a snug room being created, adjacent to an opulent but comfortable drawing room. The first floor saw four rooms being made into six to include an extra study and utility room. The second floor transformed odd shaped rooms into 3 equal bedrooms. And an Attic was added to create additional sleeping and living space.

Into this beautiful environment, art, antiquities, and cultural icons found their places within contemporary nooks and crannies, creating contrast and texture. Christine has a unique talent for procurement of 'objet d'art’ to showcase lives well-travelled and a home well loved.
